Multipath I/O Setup for Windows Server 2008
Document Description
To set up multipath I/O on Windows Server 2008, do the following:
Step 1: Start the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service
Note: It is recommended to enable this service for automatic start.
Do one of the following:
| o | From the Start button select Administrative Tools -> Services. Right-click on Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service, and select Properties. Change the startup type to Automatic, and start the service. |
| o | Run the following commands: C:\>net start msiscsi C:\>sc config msiscsi start= auto |
| o | From the Start button select Administrative Tools -> Server Manager. Scroll down to the Features Summary section. Select Add Features, and choose MPIO from the list. |
| o | Alternatively run the following command: C:\>ocsetup MultipathIo /norestart |
Do one of the following:
| o | From the Start button select ->All Programs->MPIO. Locate the second tab labeled Discover Multi-Paths. Check the box next to Add support for iSCSI devices. Click the Add button. |
| o | Run the following command: C:\>mpclaim -r -i -a "" |
