       QGPTOOLS library for V5R4
QGPTOOLS library is not required, but may be useful if you do
not have the 5722ST1 licensed program product installed. If you
already have QGPTOOLS on your V5R4 partition from a previous
release, no action is necessary.
If QGPTOOLS does not exist, download PTF SI22455 and follow the
instructions on the cover letter.
The SQL Utility program (SQLUTIL) is included in the PTF.
NOTE:  RCLSPACE and DSPSTMF are no longer part of QGPTOOLS.
Use the CL commands RGZPFM and DSPF instead.
****************************************************************
XDA Database Client for Windows Application Servers
When using Windows SAP application servers to connect to
iSeries database servers, client software is required. This
client software is installed with iSeries Access (previously
known as Client Access). Updates are installed during service
pack updates of iSeries access; but the XDA database client may
be changed more frequently.
The version of your XDA client can be determined by finding
qxdaedrs.dll in the WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory on the
application server using windows explorer, right mouse
clicking, selecting properties, and viewing the version
property page.
        ****************************************
==> The current 32-bit XDA version is: 11.0.0.4
==> The current 64-bit XDA version is: 11.64.0.4
        ----------------------------------------
Both the client and server in XDA 3-tier environments
should be at the same XDA PTF level.
The latest version of the client is always available at:
www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/access/xda/download.htm
The downloaded file should be placed and run in a temporary
directory - this will extract a number of files. The
qxdaedrs.dll from this location should be copied to the
WINNT\system32 directory on the application server.
The latest iSeries Access service pack is available at:
www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/access/casp.html

       JDBC DRIVER INFORMATION
To run SAP Java based workloads, a Java Database Connectivity
(JDBC) driver is required.  Two types of JDBC drivers are
available, a type 2 driver known as the Native driver and a type
4 driver known as the Toolbox driver.  Note that if the
application server is configured to use the Native driver, the
Toolbox driver is still required by standalone tools such as the
ConfigTool.
The Native driver is shipped as part of the IBM Developer Kit
for Java (57xx-JV1).
The Toolbox driver is shipped as part of the IBM Toolbox for
Java (57xx-JC1) and as part of JTOpen.  JTOpen is the open
source version of the IBM Toolbox for Java.  The JTOpen offering
is always at the most current level of fixes and functions and
generally leads by six months the fixes available via the
Toolbox for Java LPP.  The Toolbox driver shipped with JTOpen
should be used instead of the driver shipped with Toolbox for
Java LPP.
Download JTOpen from
www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/toolbox/downloads.html.  The
correct download will have the form jtopen_<x>.zip, where <x> is
the release.  Do not download jtopen_<x>_jdbc40.zip, this driver
supports the JDBC 4.0 standard and is not supported with JDK
1.4.2.  After the download completes, extract JTOpen from the
downloaded ZIP file.  The JDBC driver is named jt400.jar and is
located in the subdirectory /.../lib/jt400.jar.  Transfer the
jt400.jar file to an IBM i IFS directory.  It is recommended to
transfer this file to a different location than the current
Toolbox driver.
JTOpen 6.2 is the minimum release recommended.  To determine
the release installed on your system and which JDBC standard is
supported, run the following command from QSH: java -cp
jt400.jar utilities.AboutToolbox
****************************************************************
       APPROPRIATE SIZING
OS, HW or Application upgrades may require additional memory
resources depending on the details of your environment.  Please
review the IBM/SAP Competence Center sizing guidelines for your
environment with your IBM representative or Business Partner.
****************************************************************
       OPTIMOVER and OPTICONNECT
Note: The PRPQ 5799FWQ for Optimover is no longer supported
after V5R1.  You will have to purchase the licensed program
product 5722SS1 option 23 for Opticonnect if you wish to
use Opticonnect at V5R4.
